Can i cut a b- c mast to suit a D rig instead of the norm

HI Peter,
The answer is no if you wish to race the boat, the whole ethos of the boat was to only need 1 mast for each of the sails.
People have done this I saw some examples in France, but the bend characteristics of the mast were altered is such a way that the sail shape was awful with corresponding performance very poor.

There is a format where you can write to the association to look at producing a smaller mast with the correct bend characteristics. we will then collate this and forward it o the designer & builder and then wait for the decision. With the D sail it took 9 years before the first production OTT 'D' sail hit the stores.
